    Genre isn’t owned by a single game. Other games do and should exist to try to innovate and improve on those concepts. Also nice sockpuppet .

    Kyouko, ALL beat em ups were like this back when they were fashionable. All. It isn’t a final fight clone, it’s a 2d scrolling beat em up.

    Same as all 2d platform shooters aren’t Mega Man clones, they’re 2d platform shooters (although that game you called out for cloning Mega Man the other day is INDEED a hell of a lot like Mega Man).

    Find me a video game that is truly not derivative of anything, anywhere, ever (and that includes the very very first video game ever made) and I’ll show you a liar by holding up a mirror.

    I know you have a hard-on for calling games out as clones (often first time releases by brand new developers just tgrying to get something out there so that they can move on to their dream project or whatever), but what good does it do going on your personal crusade here, on THIS site?

    If someone shows me a game that’s available completely free, DRM pirated out, and Kyouko says “oh well, this is just a clone of [insert classic 8 & 16-bit game here], I’ll just say “dayyum, it’s like THAT great game I used to love when I was a kid?! That sounds fucking awesome, which link is the fastest one?!”

    Maybe you do this already, and that’s fantastic if you do, but why not put this stuff somewhere where it’ll actually save someone’s money for them? Once you have done that, please feel free to come let me know which awesome retro-homage I should next. 80D
